Udhe Ahluwalia
Co-founder, CEO, Chairman
Udhe is a veteran of pioneering
new technology solutions and applying them to create
efficient markets. His background includes successful
roles as CEO, CTO, and VP Engineering with various
startups as well as Fortune 500 organizations. His
leadership has enabled uniting leading technologies
of speech recognition and VXML to deliver a completely
hosted turnkey service. Udhe launched his entrepreneurial
career when he co-founded GetSmart, which pioneered
mortgage shopping on the Internet. Udhe was CTO of
GetSmart, which was acquired by Providian. Udhe then
co-founded Done.com where he served as CEO and CTO.
Before launching into his entrepreneurial
efforts, Udhe was Vice President at Wells Fargo Bank,
CIO at Pure Software and Manager at Nortel. He holds
a Masters Degree in Structural Engineering from the
University of Pune, India.
Dan Levitan
Managing Partner, Maveron
Dan Levitan and his partner Howard Schultz co-founded Maveron in 1998. Levitan and Schultz, who shared the same philosophies about what makes a great company and powerful consumer brand, wanted to bring to fruition their shared values and vision for a different kind of venture capital firm. Within six months Levitan raised $75 million, eventually creating the largest venture capital fund in Washington State, now totaling more than $400 million under management. Maveron's mission is to become the premier financial and strategic partner to the great consumer brands of the future. Prior to his role as Managing Partner at Maveron, Levitan was a managing director at Schroder Wertheim & Co., a leading investment banking firm in New York. At Schroder's, Levitan headed consumer investment banking, new business development and founded the West Coast investment banking division. Levitan serves on the board of directors of The Motley Fool, drugstore.com, Potbelly Sandwich Works, and Cranium, and has acted as a consultant to numerous private, public and philanthropic organizations, including Duke University's Trinity College of Arts & Sciences Board of Visitors and Pilchuck Glass School.
Levitan is a graduate of Horace Mann School, Duke University and Harvard Business School. Levitan's personal interests include fine art, Duke basketball and mountain climbing. In 1997, he climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, and in 2000 ascended Washington State's Mount Rainier for the second time.
David Samuel
Managing Director, Mosaic Venture Partners
Dave Samuel has had extensive experience
in corporate finance, business strategy, Internet
and new media technologies, as well as building and
growing successful companies.
Dave sits on the Boards of openCOLA,
Time Industrial, Borderfree, GotMarketing, and Gage
Learning Corporation.
Before Mosaic, Dave was President of
Rogers Wave from its inception and led North America's
most aggressive rollout of high speed Internet access
over cable. Dave was also a consultant with McKinsey
& Company and a Senior Executive with Torstar
Corporation. Early in his career, Dave was an investment
banker with Morgan Stanley & Co. where he executed
a variety of financial transactions.
Dave holds an HBA from the University
of Western Ontario and an MBA from the Harvard University.
Will Weisman
Maveron
Will Weisman joined Maveron in 2003, bringing a unique blend of technology and brick and mortar operating experience to the team. Previously at Foundation Capital, he served as an entrepreneur in residence and later as a venture associate where he focused on business services and enterprise software. Prior to Foundation, Weisman enjoyed success as an entrepreneur after founding a venture backed restaurant chain called World Wrapps. Over a three-year period, he helped invent and brand a new food product called the "wrap" and grew the company into a 30-unit business with over 600 employees. Weisman began his career at Intuit, at the time a growing 100-person organization, where he was involved in product management for the Quicken line.
He received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from University of California at Santa Barbara. Weisman remains active as a Stanford alumni and guest lecturer on entrepreneurship. He is the recipient of the Visionary Award - From Mind to Menu and Nation's Restaurant News' Hot Concept Award.
